Join us as we visit elementary schools and put on a dental hygiene assembly for the kids. It's a lot of fun and one of the best dental service opportunities you will find. Everyone is invited.
Check the calendar for upcoming assemblies and details. Please arrive at the school 20 minutes early for preparations.
Take a look at the script beforehand to get an idea of what goes on.

As UVU pre-dental students and with the help of the Charity Anywhere Foundation, we carried out 3 dental humanitarian trips to Mexico during this last school year in which dozens of our pre-dental students participated. Each trip was a priceless experience. Due to drug violence and swine flu epidemics, we are unable to plan a trip in Mexico at this time, but hope to have one planned for either Thanksgiving or Christmas break 2009. Total cost will be approximately $350 per student including transportation, food, lodging, etc.
Smiles for El Salvador 2009 (Academy of LDS Dentists)
The trip will be November 20-29, 2009, including a short vacation at the end to the beautiful Pacific Ocean resort--the Royal Decameron. We are estimating the cost to be $2,250 per person including round-trip air travel, hotels, meals, ground transportation, clinic costs and the two-day vacation at the end.
If interested, contact UVU pre-dental club for more details.

You can collect donations of old dental equipment that is collecting dust in dentists' offices. Print off copies of this “You Can Help” letter put your name and contact information on the bottom, and take them to dentists. It’s an easy thing to do while you’re already observing or visiting your own dentist. You can either make arrangements with Gordon to give him what you've collected, or just bring it yourself when you come on our next dental humanitarian trip to Mexico.
Dr. Veit of the UVU Dental Hygiene program has invited our Spanish speaking students to help translate during patient visits. He would appreciate a weekly commitment to one of the shifts listed below, for the duration of the semester.
