Recommended Coursework

Many dental schools will require the following courses below. If you have a specific school you are interested in applying to, make sure you check their website for specific requirements. Most dental schools will require a minimum GPA of 2.5-3.0 and will not accept classes with a grade lower than a C-. While it is not required that you have a bachelors degree, most applicants do.

Required classes:

1 year English (ENGL 1010/2020)

1 year  College Biology with labs (BIOL 1610/1615 and 1620/1625)

1 year General Chemistry with labs (CHEM 1210/1215 and 1220/1225)

1 year Organic Chemistry with labs (CHEM 2310/2315 and 2320/2325)

1 year Physics with labs (PHYS 2010/2015 and 2020/2025)

Additional courses:

Pyschology* (PSY 1010)

Anatomy* (ZOOL 2320)

Biochemistry* (BIOL 3600)

Microbiology* (MICR 2060)

Physiology* (ZOOL 2420)
